About Sas Crossing Countries
Sas Crossing Countries is a family travel blog that focuses on country road trip guides with helpful itineraries. Blogger Saskia mostly travels with her family. They prefer to go on road trips that will take them to every corner of a country. Saskia’s love for travel, photography, travel planning and writing led to the birth of family travel blog Sas Crossing Countries. She published her first blog post at her 40th birthday.
It is her believe that showing kids the world and teaching them about other cultures is the greatest gift a parent can give them. By blogging about her own travel experiences, she hopes to inspire other parents to fill up their backpacks and give their kids the world.

I’ve loved traveling ever since I was a little girl. I went on my first holiday with my family when I was one year old and from then on, until I was 16, all summer holidays were spend in countries we could drive to easily from our home country, The Netherlands.
In 2000 I bought my very first Lonely Planet for a trip to Paris and learned it by heart. In three days I saw even more than I had hoped for and from that moment on I was hooked on traveling.
In 2004 I became a mother and traveled the world solo with my son for a few years. My single life eventually led to couple life in 2014 and in 2018 we had another boy who made our family of four complete.
There’s nothing better than exploring the world with your kids. Seeing the world through their eyes makes you see things you otherwise wouldn’t.
What else? I’m a program manager for a municipality in The Netherlands and I love my job. Lots of freedom, lots of brain exercise and great colleagues. That’s all there is to know, I guess.
